Dentures replace all missing teeth in an arch (upper or lower jaw) and surrounding tissues, while partial dentures replace only a few missing teeth and rely on remaining healthy teeth for support. Both are custom-made, often removable, and improve chewing, speech, and confidence by filling gaps caused by tooth loss due to decay, disease, or injury, and preventing remaining teeth from shifting.
