Another Memorable Summer Begins

Keeping up with the kids can be tricky, but it's wroth it when I get to see some of the awesome things they accomplish.

Brooklyn and Allie finished their soccer season, and I’m so glad they both had a great time and that their teams played so well. Allie especially enjoyed soccer and is looking forward to attending some soccer camps this summer to improve even more and see how she does.

We’ll wait to send Brooklyn to camps until she’s a bit older, but we’re all excited to see her develop her skills too. We had so much fun watching them play this year that it’s almost sad when the season comes to an end!

Nicole just finished a great track season at Heritage Middle School, which she represented in the district tournament’s 400-meter event. She has been incredibly focused all year, giving up sugar to get her body in shape for the sport.

Eating well isn’t a problem for her necessarily, but she loves sugar, so that was a challenge. But she did it, and it was neat to see her display such dedication to a healthy lifestyle (she even had the willpower to turn down treats at parties!). Now that she’s done with track, Nicole is finally allowing herself sweets, but it was really fun to watch her level of commitment to athletics.

Brittany just finished up with tennis, too, and we were so thrilled to watch her at her district championships as she finished first in her group at the tournament! She’s been playing tennis for a couple of years now, and she’s really loving it. We’re proud of how far she’s come!

Of course, Becca and I are really happy that Melissa is home from college now and that we get to spend a little more quality time with her. She recently got her wisdom teeth pulled, and she’s busy running around getting things taken care of before she leaves for her mission in Guam.

It feels like we have a long time before she departs, but in reality, it’s just the summer, and time flies. As parents, we have to prepare ourselves for her big journey, too, so that the day doesn’t sneak up on us too quickly.

I recently returned to the practice from a training where I studied under one of the best doctors in the nation on treating infants. Bringing this knowledge to my practice, I intend to help children and babies who are tongue-tied or lip-tied in order to prevent the cascade of problems associated with it, including difficulty nursing.

I'm very excited to offer these treatments. Please contact castlebury dental today if you know of a child who you think might qualify for this type of procedure.
